James Mitchell - Consultant ENT Surgeon

Mr James Mitchell provides a specialist general adult and paediatric ENT service. His particular area of expertise is the treatment of ear conditions.

Mr Mitchell graduated from St George's Hospital Medical School London in 1999. During his ENT training he worked predominantly in London and the South East including the Royal Marsden and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.

Mr Mitchell is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He was initially appointed Consultant ENT Surgeon at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust in 2014. In 2016 he was subsequently appointed to Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.

He is fellowship trained in advanced techniques for hearing preserving laser cholesteatoma surgery, hearing reconstruction and endoscopic ear surgery.

He has a Masters degree in allergy (Distinction). He offers up-to date treatment of nasal allergy and sinus symptoms. He has published on dietary aspects of nasal symptoms.

Mr Mitchell is also an accomplished musician having studied with Joan Barker and Christine Croshaw at Trinity College London. He has given recitals and appeared as soloist in concertos. He understands many of the practical ENT problems experienced by performers.
